- AVID
- Is a four year program that gives college-bound students extra support to succeed in appropriately challenging classes.
- Provides a supportive school family in which students work with the same teacher and peers throughout high school.
- Gives students exposure to colleges throughout the state through at least two field trips a year, and students get support with the college and scholarship application process. Last year's AVID students earned over 1.5 million dollars in scholarship offers!
- The MILL
- Learn skills in cabinet manufacturing, construction technology, and welding
- Get U.S. Department of Labor-recognized industry certificates so you can go directly in the job force
- Fulfill math and science credits
- Compete for the SkillsUSA Colorado State Championship
- CTE
- Not going to college? Have a plan for your career after high school? Use our CTE program to get the experience you need. These courses are focused on getting you job ready. Programs are available in:

Leadership Opportunities
- Student Council
- Plan spirit weeks, assemblies, special events, dances, etc.
- Organize and run the Widefield/Security Community Parade
- Meet with administration to create changes to better the Grizzly experience
- Yearbook
- Yearbook is a great way to attend school events like athletic games and concerts. We are on the front lines seeing the action up close and personal. We work to identify and educate the public about what happens behind the scenes in various programs or activities. We also attend a Journalism Conference at CSU Fort Collins to learn about photography and Yearbook building. We have a lot of fun working together to create memories. Also, we eat A LOT of food! Come and be a part of an award winning program.
- NJROTC
- Naval Science is a Leadership Development course which allows cadets to learn and practice leadership techniques and methods. By its nature, the program helps cadets learn responsibility and self-discipline by leading their peers and others within the JROTC program.
- Teams with leadership roles include Drill, Air Rifle, Academic, Color Guard, PT and Raider

Music & Drama
- Band
- Receive consistent #1 ratings at all State Concert and Jazz Band Competitions and Festivals.
- Performed in Sea World, the “Big D Classic” Concert Band Festival in Dallas, “Choice Music” in LA, California, and in Disneyland!
- The Pride of Mesa Ridge has earned countless awards and podium finishes at EVERY major Colorado competition.
- Our students are consistently selected to Honor Bands around the state.They have ranked as one of the top 8 Finalist Bands at the State Marching Championships competition for the past 18 years!
- The Pride of Mesa Ridge are the 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2021 Grand Champions of the Colorado State Fair Parade Competition! This past year they had a full sweep of awards earning GRAND CHAMPION along with Best in Class 4A Band, Outstanding Color Guard, AND Outstanding Drum Majors!
- Choir
- The Choral Music program at Mesa Ridge consists of 5 performance choirs. In addition, there are the additional extracurricular groups—Ridgeline (our jazz choir) and our student led R & B Choir. These groups present several concerts throughout the school year and perform in competitions and events outside of the school.
- Orchestra
- The orchestra program offers multiple skilled level groups that present and perform in various competitions/concerts throughout the year.
- Drama & News Production
- For twenty-three years, Mr. MacEnulty has run the Drama program for Mesa Ridge. Mesa Ridge is proud to offer three classes that interest the blossoming Drama student: Beginning Drama, Advanced Drama, as well as Technical Theater. In addition to these in-depth courses, Mesa Ridge is also fortunate to have a mainstage production in both the Fall and Spring semesters. For the Drama student, Mesa Ridge offers something every Thespian ... both on the stage and behind the scenes.
- Mesa has over 30 clubs and activities that run during lunch and after school. From Game club to National Honors Society there is something for everyone's interest
