National Honor Society

NHS is an academic organization for qualifying Juniors and Seniors intended to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote worthy leadership, and encourage the development of character in students of Mesa Ridge High School.

The Mesa Ridge chapter of NHS requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.33, an exemplary discipline record, and participation in school and community activities as well as positive character recommendations from MRHS faculty. NHS members are selected each spring by a 5-member faculty council.

Once accepted and inducted into NHS, members must maintain a 3.33 GPA, attend weekly meetings, and participate in chapter activities as well as meet the minimum of 20 hours of community volunteer service per school year.

Eligible Seniors may apply for NHS scholarships and earn the privilege of wearing the National Honor Society sash at graduation.

NHS members support blood and food drives, Fright Night, and Make-A-Wish as well as a variety of community events.
